Tokyo - Hakone
This article is incomplete. More information will be added in future versions of this guide.
Hakone is an area close to Mt. Fuji that is considered to be an excellent side trip from Tokyo. I was there for a night and day - I found the area to be interesting but relatively expensive.
Botanical museum of Wetlands
This museum is a botanical garden that displays different types of wetlands. You walk through the garden, sometimes on small paths or sometimes on boardwalks. They have lots of cool carnivorous plants on display.
- Entry price: 600 yen
Open Air museum
This is one of the highlights of Hakone, an open air museum. Basically you walk through a park with a lot of sculptures. There are also some inside exhibitions. There is an exhibit on Picasso.
- Samurai museum: There is a little samurai museum next to the Wetlands museum - it’s not worth going to. Their collection is small, and taking pictures is forbidden. (Price: 800 yen)
