What to carry
Most Japanese tend to carry around a small towel. Most bathrooms do not provide a way to dry your hands. Summer can be very humid making you sweat after walking just a few hundred meters. So, when in Rome, do as the Romans do - carry a small towel with you.
Small towels can be bought in convenience stores.

Don’t forget a power converter. For travellers coming from the US, you don’t need one - the prongs are the same. But visitors from most other countries will want to invest in a power converter.
Be careful, some equipment like hair dryers and external battery chargers may get damaged when using a power adapter.
