Manga and anime

Obviously Japan is a manga and anime lovers paradise: almost all manga and anime originates from Japan. For those new to this, it’s important to distinguish the difference between manga and anime: manga are the comic books. Anime are the animated movies - often based on the comic books.

If you really want to enjoy everything Japan has to offer in terms of manga and anime you will have to learn Japanese. Only the extremely popular series make it across the border. For example, Attack on Titan was recently translated to English.
